Buying from a Stiff as a Board Builder ( no offense to builders out there)
Hi again! We found another house, this one is not a foreclosure property, and all was going well except: The seller has NOT finished the shelving inthe home, and refuses to pay ANY closing costs. He cites that he doesn't have the money for either. The house is new and has been listed for sometime. The realtor says that the builder doesn't have to give an appliance package, even though most seem to do so with a new house. Seems like all we are getting here is a new home with no appliances, no shelving, and the right to pay his debt off...I never imagined being able to get such a lovely home. But, with the builder refusing to make any concessions (i.e. play fair, be a good businessperson) looks like my dream home is turning into a nightmare..
sorry to ramble...I was wondering if there was anything we could do about the situation, but I suppose the seller was within his rights not to finish the property. Found out today that he took another offer for more money. Well, I guess that's the way it works sometimes. Thanks for answering.
Tu, I'm not sure what your question is. I understand your frustration but it sounds like the seller is making very clear what he is willing or not willing to do. Your choice is simply to take it or leave it.
