Buying a short sale

Asked by Ahetz328, Jeffersonville, IN Sat Dec 7, 2013

I made an offer on a short sale to find out it'll take the bank two weeks to respond. Is this typical? Any advice on speeding up the process...

Two weeks is actually a good response rate on a short sale. I wish there were ways to make it shorter, like a ''normal'' sale. Is the listing agent using a document program- like Equator? That system has helped speed up the response time.

I work with short sales and while it does take a while for the bank to accept an offer at the same time if you keep contacting them it can help to speed up the process. I have been working on one right now for 5 months but I still call the bank every other day to see if there has been any updates.
