Hi, We are looking at houses in Pacifica (Fairmont area) and in the Rollingwoods area in San Bruno. Does anyone have any opinion on which area may be better in terms of airline noise and future marketability etc. In Pacifica area, we are looking at houses with an Ocean View. Thank you.

Hi there,

I think to answer this question, you really need to look at homes in the area, get familiar with test scores for the local schools, understand the climate differences and look at some statistics.

I'll be willing to work with you, no obligation.. Honest.

By the way, I'd also like to recommend a few other areas for you to consider.

thanks

Hello,
Both areas are fairly comparable. If one has an ocean view then that is a huge plus. A home with a nice view just adds value down the road. Also keep in mind which has a better school district, because even if you don't have children, good school districts equal higher long term value. In the end use a realtor who knows that area front and back. In our office that would be Dave Tapper, I believe he's been the number one San Bruno agent for the last five years. Median sales price is fairly similar in both locations and they will probably move about the same overall. Fairmont area can be very foggy and not a plus for some, but nice views when clear. I would focus more on the factors you want in a home and area more than future pricing. If you have kids in school compare schools. (greatschools.com) which location is closer to work, closer to family, closer to shopping etc.
BTW if it were me I would probably go with Rollingwoods, but thats just because it meets more of my preferences. I did live there for a short time :)
If you ever want to see any homes in these areas feel free to contact me.
