Builders offering to buy your existing home

Asked by Kevzwick, 95113 Mon Sep 7, 2009

I saw that Robson Homes was offering to buy your existing home if you are moving up into one of their higher-priced communities. Does anyone havedetails on how this works and if any other builders are offering a similar deal right now?

Hi Kevzwick,

Good Morning to you..
My recommendation to you is to get an agent who is specializing that the
neighborhood. It s better for you if you have a gent working for you excluvely.
The explain to you all the details about property that you might not know.
Please call the exppert in that area.

The last time we had a similar market was the early 1990's. It was then common for Builders to offer this option. The issue you have to deal with is ensuring that the the price they are paying you is fair value, and if so, are they adding anything to the price being charged to buy the new home versus what it could be bought for without this "concession".
It can be a perfectly legitimate incentive where a "win-win" result occurs. It can also be a rip-off.
Do your homework to determine if this is a good deal for you.
Good luck,
