Asked by Jadreamin1012, Brockton, MA Sat Oct 13, 2012

Is it possible to bring a credit score up 22 or more points in 6 to 8 months? How?

You really need to have someone take a look at your credit report and advise you on the specifics. A good mortgage lender can usually recommend what to concentrate on that will have the biggest impact.

You can also go to a site like freecreditreport.com, they have all kinds of information on how to improve your credit score and for a small fee you can monitor and watch your score as well..

If you need the name of a few good local mortgage lenders, send me an email and I will recommend someone who can help :)

Good Luck,

Provide your credit report to a local lender and they usually have a program that they can use to show what your credit will do when you address the various issues on your report.

Yes. Pay you credit cards on time and pay them down. If you get to a point where they have no balance keep them open with $0 balance. Part of the score is the amount of credit limit to credt balance. It's best to have this under 50%.

You may take the advise from a mortgage banker.
