Both are frame houses brick does have a less of a maintenance cost over the years however depending on the area you live in and the market that is how you can determine the resale value. Because every area has different resale value. I live in New Hyde Park and there are a lot of houses that are brick now a days
Brick homes are usually more sought after because they have more curb appeal, added insulation and low maintenance cost.
Either brick or frame the exterior needs to be checked and maintained regularly for maximum protection againt the elements.
Most 'brick' homes you see that were built say after 1950 use a brick veneer over a wood frame. Assuming you are referring to the finished exterior surface of the home, whether it be brick or wood, brick will always require less maintenance than wood, if it was properly installed. Brick will always add more value than wood because it is less costly to maintain.
Keep in mind that resale value will always depend on exact location, condition, schools, personal preferences, etc.; as for the maintenance, costs are probably similar, however it may be a good question to ask your licensed home inspector...
