Everything depends on your budget. If you are limited in funds you should be looking in the North Port or Port Charlotte area. You will find the most for you dollar there. However lifestyle is also important. You should visit all the areas which can be done in a day trip. Look at some homes and what the towns have to offer as far as activities. Anywhere in Sarasota county would be a great place to live. You might even consider Englewood.

Good luck with your search

Regina is very committed to Sarasota. That is why I chose to move here as well.

But, for those who want a more quiet lifestyle, a more affordable place to live, more quaint, more rural, or a larger community, there are many choices under the "Florida umbrella"!

You have all heard of staycations...staying close to home but getting away for a few days to recharge your batteries...

My husband and I select a town or area every few weeks or when we have a few days to get away and explore other areas in Florida within a few hours time...You can get most everywhere in the state without any trouble... The roadway system is fabulous and easy to navigate...just get in your car, head in a direction and go as far as you like or where an area "calls out to you"....

You will be pleasantly surprised as to the flavor and amenities of all the locations and what they have to offer..

As a Realtor, it is also beneficial to explore other locations, and get to know our neighboring communities...If you have a contact who decides that they do not want Sarasota, you might suggest another community and refer that buyer to a fellow agent and get a referral fee! That's what this is all about...sharing ideas and experiences to make other's lives as pleasant as ours!

"Get the most for your budget" is very different than getting the best property for you for now and for the long run.

I am sorry, but I may ruffle a few feathers here. Getting a "good deal" in areas too far south of Sarasota is never my recommendation unless your only real desire is lower price. In my humble opinion, there is simply no place like Sarasota in amenities and services; culture, shopping, dining, beaches, top schools, and the like. It is the total package. We also have a healthy tourist trade and international reknown as a destination. I know many people who were seduced by the beautiful new home 45 minutes away and now wish they bought anything here instead.

Again, I am just a local real estate agent but I think Sarasota is where its at...and within our borders, there are hundreds of opportunities to purchase any number of diverse properties representing many different lifestyles. I suggest a more in depth conversation as to your desired lifestyle and what makes YOU tick..after all, at some point you will walk out of the home and want to experience the community. Best of luck!

Sarasota is a fabulous city with homes in locations from direct beachfront, bay front, city and surrounding suburbs...
every location has wonderful amenities and offerings...
it depends on your lifestyle, your price range, your preference of Gulf to Golf...

Longboat key homes built after 2000 with 3 - 4 bedrooms are fantastic buying opportunities for those who wish to have a boat in their backyard, or play golf.

There are many homes in Lakewood Ranch, which is a golfing community, that are fantastic buys at the moment...

If you have time to send me a list of what you want in a house, what area, etc...I can customize a portfolio for you.

Looking forward to hearing your assessment on Sarasota and her areas...I love everything there is here!

The best areas to purchase in Sarasota? Any area! But first decide if you like deed restrictions, what school district do you want to be in, do you like a gated community, a golf course or perhaps waterfront? Do you like newer homes or older more charming homes? Tile roofs? Will you be looking for a short sale, which takes longer to close, or a traditional purchase? As important as all these questions are, surprisingly, the agent you choose to represent you is a primary question which also must be addressed. All agents shop from the same MLS and can find you the perfect home. In this market climate however, it is also imperative that your agent be aggressive in presenting and defending your offer in the most aggressive manner. If you would like an agent who will facilitate the search, purchase and closing of your home and real estate investment I encourage you to contact me.

M,
First, let me say, you have provided clear information in your question for it to be anawered. It is understood that you are seeking value....and who isn't in this market?

All of your criteria are basically standard except one......the three car garage. This feature is not as standard as the others and just scarce enough to to make it more difficult to maximize on your search. Our recommendation is to hold fast to your 3-car garage criteria but also entertain the 2-car option. You may find this will open doors that otherwise would have been passed over.

It's no secret that some of the best deals in the country are coming out of North Port and Port Charlotte but don't neglect to consider Venice, Nokomis, or Osprey. There are some wonderful opportunities where ever you are, it's a matter of investing the time and energy in a successful cause.

Our best advice is to hitch your wagon to and agent that understands how to work with a customer's specific needs and is also commited to success.

Good luck,
The Eckler Team

in a nut shell depends on your price range. If price is no object than waterfront property
However you need to narrow down this a bit. i know of deals in every community and I could show you this home you are tlaking about from 120,000 to 10 million and all a deal

This question is impossible to answer without more information. The first thing we need to know is what you figure your budget is. I can show you $300,000 homes and $1,500,000 homes that would fit the basic description that you have provided. There will be an obvious difference in quality, and the locations will be quite different.

Location is an extremely important consideration. You can get a lot of home for your money in North Port or Port Charlotte. If that area works for you, that's great. It won't have some of the community amenities that are available closer to Sarasota, so I'm not sure that you'll be satisfied that you're getting "the most for your money."

More detail concerning your needs and interests would be appreciated. I would be happy to discuss your situation in more detail if you call or send me an email.

Hello,

To find the best deal for you, find an agent you can connect with and then based on your criteria, will look into different areas of Sarasota for you. What's perfect for someone else, may not be perfect for you. It depends on your age, financial situation, and your personal preferences.

Good luck!
