No idea what a "10" is. The only unbiased school rating service that is not trying to sell you something or make money with ads is the State of Florida. The grades are base on a scale of 0 to 800 or 0 to 900 depending on the schools program. Those are then converted into A to F. The new grades came out yesterday. You can find them here: http://schoolgrades.fldoe.org/

The top 25 elementary and middle schools for 2012-2013 are:
ARBOR RIDGE K-8
CELEBRATION SCHOOL
LAKE EOLA CHARTER
ORLANDO SCIENCE MIDDLE HIGH CHARTER
BRIDGEWATER MIDDLE
HUNTERS CREEK MIDDLE

GALILEO SCHOOL FOR GIFTED LEARNING
WINDERMERE ELEMENTARY

Hello Ric, Orlando area consists of Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties. Generally Seminole County has the best overall school system and quality of life for familes. However Orange County does have some areas with really good schools as well. Osceola county not the best nor is quality of life for familes. Anywhere in seminole county is good. Lake Mary, Winter Springs, and Oviedo all offer outstanding quality of life and schools. As for Orange County stick with Winter Park or Avalon Park.

What are you lookin for in your home? Four bed two and a half bath 2,200 sf home with pool in these communities are going for $250,000 more or less depending on the neighborhood you select.

Have you been pre-approved for a loan or will you be paying cash?

Like Anna mentioned "Best is subjective". Take your time and visit the ones that are in the area you desire, the affinity between your child, you and school is very important. Some kids you can send to the best and most beautiful school but that doesn't mean that's were they will feel and perform the best or you will have the best relation with teacher and administrators.

Good Luck!
