It sounds as if your husband wasn't included in the bankruptcy. If this is the case, if your husband qualifies for a mortgage, you don't need to be on it, yet your name can still be placed on the deed to the property. If that isn't the case, I would wait 2-3 years before applying for a mortgage. The easiest way to find out is try to get pre-approved for a mortgage (it's free) and you'll have a definite answer.
