Are there particular areas in Folsom/Roseville/Granite Bay that are better for public transportation to/from downtown Sacramento?

Asked by farhad.billimoria, Sacramento, CA Mon Oct 29, 2012

We just moved to Sac about a year ago, and looking for housing options. Interested to know what public transport options are there in the Northeast of Greater Sacramento.

If you plan to live in Folsom, CA and take public transportation to downtown Sacramento, you can't go wrong with the Light Rail. You can park and ride from Sutter Street or Iron Pointe stations and ride it all the way to the Sacramento Valley Station.

This question was originally asked by Farhad. It's a great question for those considering public transportation and haven't considered El Dorado County. Please have a look using the link below. El Dorado Transit is extremely flexible and convenient for those living in Placerville, Shingle Springs, Diamond Springs, Cameron Park, and El Dorado Hills.

There are two,one on off of HWY 50 & the other on HWY80.
The one on 50 is off of Folsom Blvd. in Folsom and there are nice homes withing that general vicinity and even a nice subdivision within walking distance without compromising any privacy or Noise issues?

Light Rail connections are at both the 80 and 50 corridor so in all cases, you'll probably need to drive to the closest stations. On the 50 corridor there's a station in Folsom near 50 and Folsom Blvd in front of the Folsom outlets, and Rancho Cordova at Folsom Blvd at Sunrise Blvd off of 50. On the 80 corridor there's a station at Watt Avenue.
