There are no farm houses in Portola Valley. A few barns maybe, but no farm houses, at least not the kind that you have in mind.

Homes like that in Portola Valley are generally going to come with acreage and a high price tag. If there are farmhomes, one consideration will be if it is in the register as a historic property, which can restrict making changes to the home. Also, many of these properties will be known by trusted and experienced professionals in the market.

Hello Tricia, There are a couple of $8 million dollar chateaus. One with a winery and a 12 stall barn?? Maybe not quite the farm you were thinking of. Does it need to be original? There are two lots on Buck Meadow asking a little over $2 million each. You could build your own farm? I think farmers are pretty smart. Many of the ones I know have kept the property in the family for years. What's your price range? Is Portola Valley the only area you want to consider? Great to hear of someone looking for an older house! A farmhouse - all the better!
I grew up in Woodside/Portola and know the area well - there are not too many older properties that haven't already been redone...
I try to keep a handle on horse properties in the area and sometimes come across something that might work - can't say I remember a "farm" house except for out on the coast for quite some time.
