Yes,
This is Philadelphia.
Home of the Brave and Land of the Free to work and make money to pay for your own roof.

However, You may be able to qualify for a low interest home renovation loan.
You should ask your local bank about their "PhilaLoan" programs.

You can also contact:
Housing Repairs Adaptive Modifications Program at 215-448-2160 .
Keystone Home Energy Loan Program at http://www.keystonehelp.com/

Good luck with your roof.

All the best,
Larry

I think it depends on the area you live in. I would suggest calling companies around your area and seeing if they offer any grants. They should be able to tell you what's available and what can help you pay for roofing. I would call sooner than later so you don't miss out on anything. http://www.purvisroofingmaine.com/roofing.html

Exactly-- but there are some options to help you out. There might not be anything specific to roofing, but look for home renovation loans. If your roof is old or dangerous, then you're even more likely to get some sort of help. | http://www.professionalroofingstl.net

I'm sure you would be able to take out a loan as long as your credit is good. You should talk to your bank about this. It's probably a good idea to do this soon and get it figured out. http://www.angleridgeremodeling.com

It depends on what you're doing the repair for. You might be able to qualify if the roof was damaged by a natural disaster. The only real way to find out is to go to a lender and ask. Even if they don't give repair grants, they might know where to refer you. http://www.spikeroofrepairdenver.com

If there was a natural disaster or some event in the area than there may be. This would be something that you may want to ask a contractor. Even if there are no grants a contractor would best be able to help you with your roof. http://www.greeleyroofing.org/roof_repair.html

If you want to find exceptional roofers, you have to do a little bit of research on the matter. It would be advantageous to have your roofers come over to give you a written quote as well. Call multiple companies to compare quotes, features, and other warranties with each other. I hope that this helps, Itsawg!

I've never really heard of grants for this kind of thing before, although that doesn't mean that they don't exist. i would suggest talking to your bank and some other banks. That's going to be your best option for getting this figured out quickly and easily. You might be able to get a grant, and you might not. Either way, good luck on replacing your roof. It's definitely a fun job to work on.

How much of your roof do you need repaired? My sister recently had her roof repaired and she got a grant for it. She does not live Pennsylvania though but hopefully there are grants for you in your area too. http://www.starkweatherandsonsroofing.com/roofing.html

This is a very good question. I am sure that it would make a lot of people happy if there were grants for it. I wonder what damage was cause that would make it so people got grants.

This is a very good question but I am not sure on the answer. It sounds like it would be worth looking into more though. Any needed repairs on your roof should be taken care of right away. http://www.roofingcontractorpittsburgh.com/roofing

I didn't know there was such a thing to help pay for your roof repair. Although roof repair can get expensive it's something that is necessary. I would gladly pay to more to have a roof over my head that's going to last me a long time. http://www.aedroofing.com

I'd also be interested to know if there is a roofing grant out there. I've never heard of one before, but it would be nice to get some of my repairs done. I think I'm going to go to my bank to see if I can look at a loan so that I can fix it up. Nobody likes water leaking onto their bed in the middle of the night. http://www.boychuksroofing.ca/Products.html

You could probably go to a bank and see if you could get a loan for this. I don't know if you could get a grant for this work, but a loan wouldn't be too difficult to get. I would suggest having a plan in place when you go in to apply for the loan. If you go in with information about who you want to hire and how long it will take along with reviews of who you are hiring, it will make them much more willing to help you with the money that you need for the project.

I'm not sure if there are any around that area. I would call around to companies to see what they offer. This will probably give you the best information of what you're looking for. Good luck and I hope you're able to find everything! http://www.cazeaultroofing.com/

I know that the housing authority in Augusta Ga used to perform work for free or low interest loans on homes depending on the income or age of the home owner. You may want to check with the housing authority in your area. If it is need based there may be a non profit who Can help out.

Thanks for the options. There are more places to look than the bank when you need a grant. Roofing is something that can be dangerous if you don't get it repaired quickly. It's certainly worth looking into every option for getting the money for a repair. http://www.dunfordroofing.com

Grants for roofing repairs? That sounds almost too good to be true. If online resources aren't helpful in clarifying, try calling a local professional and ask them.

I'm not sure about Philadelphia, but I'm sure there are. It's a pretty easy process, finding a good roofing company. You just check out their website, give them a call, maybe talk to a few of their old clients. You'll be able to figure out quickly who is quality. Good luck to you and finding a grant for your roofing repair. http://www.101industries.com/roofing.html

Thanks for your help. I have a couple leaks in my home, and about a quarter of my shingles are missing. I am not sure if I qualify for a grant to repair it, but it can't hurt to try. The roofing contractor is coming tomorrow, and maybe he can tell me more.
