Are there any active adult / 55 communities in the Brookline, MA or Newton, MA area?

Hi Paula, after a quick look on-line, I was able to come across this link:

It doesn't appear that there are 55 plus communities in the immediate area, but I was surprised to see the abundance in the state. Many people who are downsizizng ect. from the suburbs are taking advanatage of the luxury condo market in the city and nearby towns with easy access, I guess it sepends on what you want for lifestlye.

There is a new building in Watertown (close to Newton) called the Apartments At Coolidge School -- Doors Opened April 2009 so all units are new- in unit washer/dryer -- granite- etc....

There is a great retirement community in the Moss Hill section of Jamaica Plain.

Also the Jewish Rehabilitaion community is building a great new mixed community.
