Hello Mirm,
Here is the link from the government's HUD site to look up FHA approved condominiums:

https://entp.hud.gov/idapp/html/condlook.cfm

Hope this helps.

When looking at townhomes in 33611 they only have to be approved FHA if they are considered "condominiums" If the legal description has the word "Condominium" then you can look at the list on the hud's website. If they are fee simple townhomes they will qualify FHA easily.

Hi MirM,

As mentioned earlier, "Towhouses" do not require FHA approval. Unfortunately some Realtors incorrectly list a property as a townhouse when in fact it is organized as a condo. You can usually tell by the legal description because it will probably including the word condominium.

If you're not yet working with a Realtor, you can search for properties on my website: http://www.SoldOnTampa.com

There is no restriction on FHA for townhomes. If you are looking at condos, that is different and there are restrictions for FHA loans. A quick referrence between the two are in forms of ownership. Townhomes are considered a single family home. With a condo, you own the space in which your live. For example if you were in a building of condos, you would only "own" your living space. The rest of the building is owned and maintained by the condom association.

there are 6 townhome complexes in zip code 33611 that have units for sale that have FHA financing available. Let me know and I would be happy to work with you on seeing them.
