As a side note to Edwards comment, I don't find appealing tax assessments to be a difficult process at all. Often times it simply involves mailing in the hearing requests and then a few weeks later they call on the telephone and will negotiate. I have saved thousands of dollars over the years and never have had to actually appear at a hearing. Same results in Tarrant and Johnson counties. How much easier can it get than that? I explain the process to most all of the clients that choose to work with me.

you can check any tax assessment and appraisal history in Johnson County using their website http://www.johnsoncad.com

The property is on the appraisal tax roll valued at over $86k, so the taxes are pretty accurate. The appraiser probably gave value for commercial potential because it jumped up in value significantly in 2009. A buyer could take their documentation to the appraisal review board and show what they paid for it but that is no guarantee to get the value lowered. It is a difficult process.
