Are the condos by the Northstar ski trails good investments?

I believe these Ski Trail Condominiums offer excellent value. Although they are older units they have been well managed and maintained over the years and are in an excellent location within Northstar. They are truly "ski-in, ski-out" properties and offer a much quieter yet convenient location. You can easily walk to the Village from here and also enjoy all Northstar Property Owners amenities. I have had quite a few clients buy these units over the years and really enjoy them. One client still owns a unit and has had good success with renting it, as well as, enjoying it themselves. The Ski Trail Condos are a great value and offer a strong rental appeal which will help you maximize your rate of return. Although these units are older than the Village units their HOA dues are significantly less which will help increase your ROR. These units have access to the Northstar Property Owners Association which offers a fantastic pool, spa, fitness center, tennis, and a youth center. With these amenities alone you will have good rental appeal but when you consider the on slope location, proximity to the village, and the overall appeal of the Northstar subdivision you can start to see that these units make for a great investment.

Absolutely! You would have a great place from which to ski during the winter months and in the summer, you could hike,bike, visti the pool and/or rent it out. I'm sure winter rentals will gain you a much higher 'return' yet, there is quite often a request for Northstar summer rentals as well . Best, Anna
p.s. a good investment if you can allow yourself 3-5 years minimum for a more substantial return

The advantage of these properties are that they are for the most part truly ski in and ski out and much more affordable than newer offerings. Another benefit is they enjoy access to the Northstar Property Owners amenities, which include pools, workout facilities and tennis courts. They were built during the original development of Northstar so expect well preserved 70's design and decor. Generally they vacation rent well too. There are some good offerings in other condo projects that are newer and are away from the ski area making them quieter and more private, with a similar price point.
