You can look up the tax information on any property in Orange County on the assessor's website, I have linked below. After you enter an address or a parcel number, a page will come up with the property's tax bill. Scroll to the bottom of that bill, and look for a link that says "details". It will take you to a window that shows all the components of the bill, including the Mello/Roos portion(s).

The Talega mello - roos are in addtion to the HOA fees for the community. There are up to three mello-roos assesments in Talega and how many of them are assessed depends on which part of Taleag you live in. All areas pay the basic infastructure mello-roos that built out all the streets sewers and community areas. The second mello-roos built the Vista del Mar school and is paid by all ares except the Gallery community that is restricted to 55+ age groups. The third mello-roos paid to build the bridges on Ave Talega and on Saluda. Only the communities that are north and east of those bridges pay these assessment. These variations make it hard to make a statement as to the average cost of mello-roos. If you are working with a real estate professional he would be able to tell you the exact mello-roos assessment on any specific property.

Yes...sadly there is Mello-Roos in Talega...in addition to the HOA. Mello-Roos is a tax assessment that is a flat rate and not a percentage of the purchase price....so it varies. Do you have a specific tract or area in mind? I'd be happy to look it up for you, if you like.
