Actually, Grace is correct. They're deductible as an expense for rentals, and they're not deductible otherwise.

Hi there Peliaca, HOA are not tax deductable but consult your accountant to veriify what is . Mostly it is the interest on your mortgage that is tax deductable.

Hope this helps

Hello Peliaca and thanks for your question.

Unfortunately, homeowners association fees are not considered tax deductible if you are a resident owner and live in the home located in the homeowners association. However, if you are renting the home, the monthly assessment is considered an "expense" against income and has a one-for-one dollar deduction against the rental income earned.

Hope this helps!!

Hi Peliaca, sorry, I'm pretty sure they are not since they cover maintenance. Consult a Tax Advisor to be certain.

Best, Steve
