Are banks able to sell the homes that have been foreclosed on since oct. 08? or is there still on hold?

Marie, the hold has expired. However, many banks are regulating the marketing of their inventory of homes so that they don't flood the market and further depress prices.

Hi Marie,
The govt. did put a moritorium on NEW Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae forclosures. This meant that they were not to start new foreclose proceedings. They, and other lenders were always and have been able to sell the properties that were already forclosed on. The moritorium has recently been lifted or is about to. Sorry I forget the date of the end. Currently there are 575 homes, condos and manufactured homes that are bank owned and for sale in Reno and Sparks.

I hope this helps!

Maria,

I am not sure what source you heard that from, but there are and every day new bank owned properties on the market.
