Typical questions from potential clients include "How Much Does Asbestos Removal and Abatement Cost? "

There are no typical asbestos costs as each project is unique. Factors that affect the cost for proper removal and disposal include location of the asbestos containing materials (is it elevated, in a crawlspace, etc.), composition (i.e. floor tile, transite, insulation, etc.), distance to nearest landfill.

The Mack Group, LLC has the expertise and experience to develop cost estimates for a simple boiler abatement project to an entire facility wide asbestos removal project. We can provide a cost estimate as well as firm pricing and, of course, we can professionally and safely execute the actual abatement. We look forward to providing you consulting, estimating or contracting services on your next asbestos project.

Asbestos is ok as long as it is intact. Once broken it become airbourne and dangerous. Many homes go without removal and are completely safe. If you want to simply update the home, then yes by all means have it done. It's not really all that expensive....... and there are GRANTS availble for this also.

If you like the home and it is priced right for you then buy it.

Do you have anyone representing you as a buyer agent. you should!
Call me I know Marlton very well. I'll do some price comparisions for you and show you a way to really see if you are getting the property priced right for you.

As Laura stated, homes with asbestos siding can be easily resided with vinyl siding by going over the asbestos. Run a google search for asbestos siding and you will find numerous sites devoted to the removal/care/repair/replacement of asbestos siding.

It depends on certain things like accessibility. I would figure $3.00 per square foot for estimating purposes.

No it should not deter you. Asbestos needs to be in the air to cause problems. Many homes in New Jersey have asbestos siding and if it's left in place there is usually no problem.
With that being said, asbestos removal can be expensive.
What many homeowners do is cover the asbestos siding with vinyl, thereby encapsulating it. That is usually the more economical option.
As others have stated, contact a removal firm, but also speak to a siding contractor with experience in re siding over asbestos.
Good Luck!

You should contact an asbestos removal contractor to find out how much it will cost to remove asbestos siding. One place to look is http://www.thebluebook.com/cl/stall203.htm. A online search should help you find other local contractors.

Only you can determine whether or not you should buy the house. If asbestos is a concern and you want it removed before you purchase the property, consider negotiating with the sellers and have them pay for it. If they are unwilling to pay for it, consider offering a lower price, and look into an FHA 203(k) Streamline Rehab loan to finance the cost of the abatement and new siding. The cost of the abatement can be rolled into the mortgage. A good FHA expert in your area you should consider contacting is Jeff Belonger (http://www.fhaloansfhamortgages.com/).
