Anyone have any comments on Hillsdale (MI) or Boulders (Ryland)? Considering building in one of these.

Hi Joshua, I am a big fan of Ryland. I have had several buyers purchase Ryland homes and are very satisfied with the options in the design center, the customer service, the follow up and the construction of the home. I have not had as much experience with MI but nothing negative to say. Both builders are what I would call mid tier; Pulte being upper tier and Beazer being lower tier. Drive around the communities and spend time with their floor plans to get exactly what you want. I know that the Ryland Design Center is open to the public on Saturdays so you could get a feel for their options.

One thing to keep in mind is that the price of the floor plan will not be all that you will pay. There are prices for elevation options, flooring, cabinets, even outlets and cable jacks. You can probably plan on 8% to 10% over and above the base price.

I would love to help you with lot selection, option selection and guide you through a new build process. The builders pay us from a marketing fund and using a realtor will NOT affect the price you pay on a home. We are free to you and I do about 30% new build in my business so think I could add some value to your building process. Let me know if you would like to know more.
