Regina,
Headland is a small, quaint town just seven miles north of Dothan, Alabama wih a growing population and excellent schools. Headland not only offers a great place to raise a family but is also a wonderful retirement community. It's close proximity to Dothan offers all the bigger town ammenities such as excellent health care facilities, shopping, and numerous restaurants without sacrificing its small town charm.
Some wonderful subdivisions to check out are CrossCreek, Sweetwater, and Twinlakes to mention only a few.
Grant Realty has several listings in the Headland area phone number is 334-793-2200.

Thank you!

Hi Regina,

Best of luck on your move. Dothan, and the rest of south Alabama for that matter, has been a primary destination for folks moving out of Florida for the past few years. You'll find that homes are overall much more affordable here. Our median price is around $133,000, and a home that might cost you $200,000 in central Florida most likely will be under $150,000 or lower here. Property taxes on this same home will cost you less than $500 annually, which I know if a big savings from what you are paying now. We do pay taxes on income in Alabama, as well as groceries. However, Alabama has one of the lowest tax burdens of any state.

Dothan is the largest city within a couple of hours drive, so we are the hub of our area. We have the best healthcare facilities, retail shopping, and infrastructure of any town around.

If you have any other specific questions, I would be happy to try to answer those. Just let me know.
