There are several areas in the price range "upscale homes" where builders are trying to reduce there inventory. You can find new homes offered with discounted prices.
Just find an agent/broker you are comfortable with and have them get to work. Fri May 9 2008, 05:42 Web Reference: http://www.bigdrelo.com

Marguerite,
As you have seen, there are many options for you in McKinney or the surrounding area. Much of the growth in the Dallas/Fort Worth area has been in the Collin County area (where McKinney is the County Seat). As indicated below, the areas I would recommend that you look into are Parker, Lucas, & Fairview, however you may also find what you are looking for in Frisco or Celina. You may have also noticed, that when you say "larger lot" you will find there are many homes available with 1/2 acre or 1 acre lots. These "ranchettes" are lovely homes with plenty of space; and many of the areas limit the use of wood/privacy fences so that you have a wonderful, spacious, open feeling in the neighborhood. Some items of note about schools that may be helpful during your search: 1. Parker, Texas is bordered by 2 cities (Plano and Allen) on the West. Depending on where you live in Parker will determine which school district you will be in. Residents attend Plano ISD or Allen ISD. 2. Lucas, Texas is served by 6 school districts depending on your location; however most of Lucas is served by the Lovejoy ISD (which is highly desired). 3. Fairview, Texas is mainly served by the Lovejoy ISD, however there are a few areas that attend McKinney schools. I hope that the information you have found on Trulia is helpful to you in your search. You may also want to visithttp:// www.ParkerTexasRealEstate.com for additional statistics on the area. Marguerite, I specialize in these towns, and would be happy to answer any additional questions you may have at any time. Please feel free to contact me at your convenience. I will be ready to assist you on your schedule, and when you are ready. Marguerite,
You will find what you are looking for in the Fairview area, which borders McKinney on the southeast. You will find great properties with 1/2 acre lots and mature trees in the River Oaks area of Fairview, which also are in a fantastic school district (Lovejoy). We live in the area and can help you find exactly what you are looking for. Give us a call or email us. Marguerite,
When you say "near McKinney", that covers a lot of ground in Collin County. But the major areas that I would include are...in addition to McKinney...Celina, Prosper, Frisco, Plano, Allen, Fairview, Lucas and Parker. I searched the local MLS for you and found just under 50 homes in these areas, priced between $350K and $500K on a least 1 acre. I eliminated the ones without mature trees...even though some were really nice homes. Click on the link below or paste it into your browser to see the homes I selected for you... http://ntreislistings.marketlinx.com/SearchDetail/Scripts/Pr You will have lots of choices because the inventory in this area is extensive. The most common issue that my Buyer clients stuggle with is location...because no matter where in Collin County they look, there are fabulous homes. available. If you need more information on any of these homes or would like to see the others that I did not include, or would like more information on the area, I would be happy to provide this to you. Hi Marguerite,
Are you planning on re-locating? We'd love to see you here in the area. How close do you want to be close to McKinney? Fairview, Lucas and Parker would be some initial suggestions with the initial criteria you've given. If I know what else is important to you, we could help narrow it down a bit. Thanks!
