Canadians are not treated any differently from any other foreign national.
I have both - a CPA that I could recommend, an attorney who has done a lot of business with Canadian clients...
What you need to know, that you can't overstay in the US (no more than 181 days).
You should open a company when buying in the US (which the CPA will help you with).
This is to avoid potential taxation by US government (when you'll be selling).
