Asked by Allen, Dublin, CA Mon Apr 12, 2010

Hi,
We are planning to purchase our a home in Dublin. Does any one know how is the Quarry Lane high school there? Is it good high school? How does it compare to the public high school?

Thanks,

I don't have any direct experience with Quarry Lane but I do know it offers an IB Program. We live near Quarry Lane and currently have our kids in the local Dublin public schools (Green Elementary and Dublin High School). As suggested by another respondent, meeting with the principals of Quarry Lane and Valley Christian (another local private school) as well as Dublin High School (the local high public school), is a great way to get to know a school. Another resource is a website I founded with local parents focused on Dublin public education - http://www.OneDublin.org. Good luck with your decision process.

Hi, You can go to http://www.SchoolDigger.com and http://www.GreatSchools.org for in-depth reports on any school. I also recommend visiting the school un announced so you get a feel for the real deal and how you will be trreated. If you call ahead they have time to prepare for you and possibly hide things.

Since opinions are often suggestive--consider visiting the school(s), ask for a tour of the facilities, speak to the principal, teachers, etc., ask all your questions and then make a determination--will your comfort level be reached.
