A new hire, the company is paying for relocation expenses including full assistance selling our home and setting us up with a buyers agent to purchase

How do we chose a reputable Real Estate broker that will price the house fairly, not just for quick sale?
Isn't it possible to lose a home because the listing agent wants to sell it and not share commission with a buyer's agent?

The Relocaiton company will work with expereinced agents who have relocation experiece and brokers. They look for expereince because in almostr all cases the relo company is charging the broker/agent a referral fee. You should have the best in the area and if not, call your relcoation specialist to be reassigned to another agent/broker.

Julia is correct, it is highly unlikely that the selling agetn will try to retain the bulk of the commission. As agents we live by a code of ethics.

Bottom line, as a transferring employee who has relocation benefits, you have some say in what happens. If you do not like something, call your relcoation specialist and talk wiht them. they have the power to make things happen as they shoudl to benefit you.

In this economy it's almost impossible to get a listing and sell it yourself (i.e. get buyer's commission too) within 3 days. This is how long it takes before a real estate agent is legally obliged to place it on MLS . MLS listings by nature require the presence of buyer's commission. Thus it’s practically not possible to lose house due to listing's agent's greediness.

To make sure your property is priced fairly, ask for comparable property analysis in the area. You can interview more than one agent to make sure the data is consistent.
