A gas pipeline runs under beneath the street in the community I am considering buying.
There is one street in between my home and the gas pipeline.
Is there a safety concern ?
Not knowing all particulars and etc. these areas are highly regulated by many goverernment and city restrictions and etc.
I have never heard in Dallas resided here 1981 any residents have problems

Hello Amy,
That is a good habit of researching before buying. As Bruce said very few people do and you will join the ranks of those who are very comfortable with your final decision.
As for the gas pipeline there is nothing you should be worried about. I have a 36" behemoth natural gas pipeline not far from my home. I actually watched them install part of this very long run and spoke with the Engineers from the gas line company who were supervising the installation. Not only were they a great bunch of people but they fully understood my concerns. They took the time to give me a personal tour of the site and explained everything being done. You really would be amazed at the number of safety features they put into these pipelines today (this was installed 6 years ago). By the time they were done with the tour and explanations my actual concerns of having a major catastrophe waiting to happen were reduced to nothing but an awe on how they installed it.
Good luck!
Sincerely

Wow....that's a lot more research than 90pct of the buyers do.
Obviously it can be a risk, but there are always all kinds of risks in many homes.
Close to the road, gas line running to the house, electrical lines overhead, tornados, wind storms, hail storms, and a million other risks.
I've never had a buyer who thought about this or researched it....
Amy,
I highly doubt that this is anything to be concerned about. There are gas lines buried all across the US and many people aren't even aware of them or their locations.
Good Luck!
Amy,
This area is known as the Barnett Shale and is very rich in natural gas. There are numerous gas lines running all over this area. A single well can generate dozens of lines, as they drill horizontally from the well-head. I've lived in this area for over 12 years and have yet to hear of a single incident related to a Gas Line. These lines are generally deep under the ground and I do not perceive them to be any more dangerous than an electrical line running above ground. The Williams Co is a local driller and may have a more complete answer for you.
