I assume from your wording your credit maybe very bad and lower than 580. If it is, You are going to have a very hard time trying to get a traditional mortgage from any banker but you may not be told this up front. With this, a traditional FHA mortgage may not be for you as you won't qualify for it.
There are other non FHA methods to finance a home which will actually help build your credit.
