Send me a message through PM here or our site. A very good friend is tight with the guys at DOW and I just spent a few days with him in California as solar shingles are on my middle burner for our own home. They disappeared for a couple years but will be available soon if not already in a few states.

It's interesting that there are solar cell shingles out there. I feel like that would really help you conserve electricity. How many cells do you need in order to collect enough energy? I'm really curious about this. http://www.gbsroofing.com

I'd love to hear about it making economic sense without the taxpayer subsidizing it!

Hello Margarita,
With these new products you will want to higher a company/factory trained professional. Go directly to DOW to find a local contractor and supplier. Good luck. http://www.dowsolar.com/

Don't know but I'd be shocked if it made sense. Solar is a losing technology right now.

Given the zip code you're in, you're sheltered with the benefits of alternative energy. You are probably one of those narrow minded realtors that are worried about the appearance of solar panels on a home cuz you can't figure out how to sell it. Every other state but Illinois is on top of the game at putting panels and wind turbines on buildings so that we can reduce our CO2 emmissions. It's people like you that make Illinois continually fall on the bottom of the list of states that are making progress at getting rid of our dependency on fossil fuels.
