Here's my list of areas in Greater Fort Lauderdale where you can have a decent amount of land, close to good schools and not be too far from conveniences:

- Davie
- Parkland
- Plantation Acres
- Southwest Ranches

A great resource for school ratings is They are so good, and our clients appreciate the information they provide so much, that we included their school rankings on every listing on our website. So when you find a home you like on our website, there is a tab about schools in the area with rankings from

Hi Kim,

Some areas that come to mind include Parkland, Coconut Creek, and Coral Springs. There's a wide selection within these towns where you'll find excellent schools and larger lots. Southwest Ranches also comes to mind; a bit more secluded but not far from Ft. Lauderdale area (depends on your definition of "out in the middle of nowhere"). Feel free to contact me via email or phone, I'd be glad to help answer any further questions.

Hi Kimmer,

To find what you are looking for, you need to look around the mid-west to far west of Broward county. I recommend Coconut Creek area located west of Turnpike by Hillsboro BLVD. by the exclusive Adios private golf course surrounded by some of the best private schools in the nation. There are still many lots of 2+ acres of empty land or homes on 2+ acres for sale. Naturally, those are available starting at $750K and ++++. You can buy some of those empty lots, relatively inexpensive (approx. $300K) but you need to consider developing the land and your cost to build your modest home or your mansion.

Go to to search through the entire county for homes on large acreage. Or, I can assist you. Just call me.

It's worth exploring.
