Well, I think it is just terrific that you are looking into your town's history. You won't find history on this forum. However, two really good places to start: are your town's web site and also your local newspaper.
if you type your town & state into a search engine like google, it will give you links to your town's site and other useful information. Also see if your local paper maintains on file the newspaper for that year.
