on fixed income & we never buy on credit so have no credit score but have good rental history what should we do to qualify?

Asked by highlander2121, Sacramento, CA Sun Apr 29, 2012

So it is my senor mom and I . I am her care giver. We have a fixed income therefore we don't buy on time anywhere. We have references from our last 3 landlords. How do we qualify to rent new place?

Consider applying for a rental with a co-signer or co-applicant who has sufficient credit.

When renting from private property owners and commercial properties, your rental history is more important than your credit history. A landlord doesn't care whether you pay your other bills (unrelated to the property), they care that you will pay your rent and utilities. If you have a history of doing this, and your combined income support the rent amount. I don't think you will have problems.

Your references and proof of income should go a long way. Also, everybody has a credit score of some kind. At least yours will not show a history of late payments! Seriously, you should be fine.
