Great Question. Seems like it should be easy to find out the price of recently sold homes in your area. If you have access to the tax records you can look there - however that can be backlogged sometimes and it may be awhile before a recent sale is recorded and actually shows up in the records.
Sometimes local newspapers run what's recently sold in your area. Your best bet is to have a Realtor do the research for you. We have access to the most current statisitics through the multiple list systems we pay to have access to and an understanding of what the numbers mean.
In this shifting market there are many different factors that effect the value of a home, what a home actually sells for and what direction the market is trending in your area - up or down.

Hi Betty. Depends on whether your interest is from the perspective of the buyer or a seller. . .if you are a homeowner considering placing your home on the market, you would want to have a detailed market analysis performed by a real estate professional, that is more specific to your home's comparable value. If you are a potential buyer, and really just want to see some statistical data showing how prices are doing right now in particular areas, then Trulia is a great source.
Some real estate agents will provide you with a complimentary market analysis. Contact one in your area to have your specific needs addressed. Good luck.

Hi Betty,

You can also find this information on Trulia. Just access the link below to view recent sales in the 30078 zipcode. You can also find this and a lot of other useful information under the Find Homes tab at the top of this page.

Betty,

You can get a Competitive Market Analysis (CMA) from most real estate agents on this site or someone in your local community. Simply ask.

Let them know what you are trying to accomplish, your address and they should be able to provide this useful information to you in no time.

Betty,

You can do it here on Trulia! Just type in the area that you want to search and on the left side of the panel, there is a checkbox that has has "SOLD HOMES." You can click that and uncheck the "RESALE" box and you'll get recent solds in the area.

It's not as recent as actually driving to the county courthouse but it's only a few weeks off of a manual search in the tax records.

You can use this site and search by address for information:
https://ssl.gwinnetttaxcommissioner.com/Property/Search.aspx

You should note that any of the counties will take a month or more to update for recent sales.

Best of luck to you!

Lee

If your town or county has their registry of deeds online you would be able to search through the old owners name. If teh property was in MLS you could ask your agent to look it up for you as well. The other place to look would be your town or cities tax cards for the update on the sale price, but sometimes they are not updated as frequent. Good luck
