It does depend heavily on traffic conditions. On a good day, I'd say40 minutes. With traffic it can be just over an hour. . LA is pretty big, so it also depends on your destination point.

MapQuest should give you great information from a definitive point A to B with the estimated travel time. Call me with specifics. I travelled from the hills in Orange (Serrano Heights) to LAX for several years and have great seasonal, weekday, and weekend info for you:

I live in Tustin. I can go to downtown LA on surface streets at peak hours in less one hour.

Also If you take The Metrolink Train from The City Of Orange You will arrive at Union Station Los Angles in approx 53 Min. There is a few stops along the way Anaheim, Buean Park and Norwalk but you will get there in 53 to 55 min.
for morning commute there is 4:37am , 5:47am, 6:24am 6:54am and 7:23am trains arriving in Orange weekdays that go to Los Angles. This is a great way to get to Los Angles without being stuck in a traffic Jam

City Of Los Angles is Just about a 40 to 50 min drive from the City Of Orange. You can catch the 5 fwy North right off Chapman Ave. Depending on traffic this drive can take over an hour with ease. Now if you were to drive to Long Beach from City Of Orange if you got on at Orangewood 57 S to 22 West might take 18 to 30 min
thats usually a bit quicker.. LA is a big place.

It depends on what part of L.A. you are in. But, 45 minutes is about right. You can use to get directions and travel time.

If you are going to the South Bay Area it will take you aprx 30 min depending on traffic. Downtown LA - 45 min-1hour. West LA - 1 hour.
Just depends where you are going and the traffic.

Hi Michele,

It depends on where you are in L.A. But, approximately 45 minutes is a good guess. Use to put in your L.A. address and the Orange address and you will get directions and travel time.

I also have a blog where I write about home sales and lately about short sales and how homeowners can avoid foreclosure. If you know of any homeowners who are having financial issues, have them check it out:
