how do i search properties that would only require county tax and not city and county?

Unfortunately, this is where a professional Realtor must be of assistance. There is no easy way to search this criteria. The only way is to search each property in question on your local property appraisers website if they have one or find a professional that will do this for you. Some professionals may have detailed experience and inherently know which areas are in the city and or county.
