As someone who lives in the area, I can tell you that the public records are not always accurate. For example, the county records (which Kevin referenced in his answer, below) state my home was built in 1900, when in fact it was built c. 1754. Your best bet, if you have questions is to ask your Realtor, and for older homes, confirm with the Delaware County Historical Society at 408 Avenue of the States, Chester, PA 19013. Their phone number is 610-872-0502. Good Luck and Happy New Year.

The information is on file at the County Courthouse and if you go in with the deed book and page number you will have an easier time locating it, the link below is for the online service to look up that information by address, there is also other useful information there such as taxes and their payment status. Our MLS, Trend, provides members (Realtors, etc.) with access to the public records and usually provides the year built for homes and recently has been updated with more such salient information about most properties in Delaware County. If you have an address I would be happy to look up the information for you with no strings attached.

Best of luck,

Kevin

You need to call or visit the tax assessors office in the town where the house is. They can give you that information
