Zoned Permit helps tremendously, monthly payment with garages in the neighborhood is also a great alternative,

I lived one block away from Fitler Square for 20 years. Finding a spot during the day is easy. Finding a spot from 6pm to 1am is often very difficult. It helps somewhat if you have a tiny car, nothing bigger than a Honda Fit. Driving something even smaller - like a Scion IQ or Smart car - increases your chances of finding a spot.

Residential permit parking stickers aren't expensive, and are essential if you live here and don't drive your car every day. Without it, you *will* get an expensive ticket every time you leave your car parked in the same space for longer than 3 hours.

No better or worse than any other part of Downtown. Permit blocks are helpful, yes.

Hi Jessica,

Street parking can be tough throughout most Center City neighborhoods.

The benefit to Resident Zoned Parking is that if you live and have your car registered to an address within Zones 1 to 27...? You are able to purchase a Resident Parking Sticker which allows you to park for unrestricted periods of time in those 2-3 hour parking zones. Yes it definitely makes a huge difference.

You can inquire about the zoned parking for any neighborhood at:

Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA)
Main headquarters located at 3101 Market Street.
PPA is the enforcement agency for parking violations in the City of Philadelphia.
The PPA is also responsible for the Residential Parking Permit Program

Good luck with your parking situation.
