Here is another great resource for area rentals:

http://www.nchomerentals.com/propertieswake.htm

This will link you directly to a variety of Wake Forest homes for rent - you're right, it's a good idea to rent in the area to see how well you like it! There are about two dozen possibilities noted here, and Block & Associates does a good job with the rental process.

First of all, welcome to our area! There are several resources you can check out for crime stats. This is a really neat site I suggest to many clients http://www.familywatchdog.us

Below is a market watch for future knowledge when you do buy a home. It's a great way to watch trends of sales in any area of your choosing.

As far as rental resources go...it depends on apartment living vs. privately owned homes. http://www.craigslist.com is HUGE here for rentals. I do have a database of investors that own homes in various area's I'm happy to ask if anyone has something vacant and available to fit your time line and budget.

Good luck with your move and we're here to help you with renting or buying!
