John brings up a good point.....relocation without employment in place is probably not a good plan. On the other hand there are any number of great locations that offer excellent educational programs, and safe affordable housing.
We recommend nailing down the employment issue ASAP............
Seminole County has some of the best schools in the state (I work Seminole), but I can not tell you about the job market for construction/electrician.
I would think you would want, need to have a job First, then look for a home. Homes are easy to find!!!!
I am from PA--Allentown actually,--and I now am a realtor and have lived in the Destin/Niceville area for the past 8 years, and I love it. Not sure why you have decided on the east coast of Florida, but I would invite you to look carefully at my area in the Panhandle--we have sugar white beaches, emerald water, change of seasons (something northerners often miss further south), and top rated schools. Okaloosa County and Niceville, Choctawhatchee High Schools are ranked among the best in Florida! I would love to have you take a look and consider this area--there are many Pennsylvanians here already--you might want to join us!!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family. May I suggest Viera a new growing city just north of Melbourne on the Space Coast. (See http://www.viera.com) This is a new master planned community that has some great sub-divisions and still plenty of years left of buiding to achieve. Current properties available can be found thru my website (details below) and if you have further questions a means of contacting me directly. Welcome to the Sunshine State.
