If you tell an agent you are on section 8 it means no income for them, and is actually none of their business, either. Just ask them to show the homes, and contact the apartment, directly, unless there is a rental agent you know personally, that would just like to help a friend find a home.
Make sure you understand the lease, before you sign any, too. Sometimes, there is a section about section 8 and special rules including if you are responsible for any other fees not paid for by section 8, such as condo fees, HOA fees, renters insurance, and/or the cost of utilities, and other fees.
Also, pay attention to the amenity section to make sure if there is additional fees for maintenance fees associated with their upkeep.
There are many places in Cocoa that accept section 8, but, I have not seen any in Titusville.
The best thing you can do is walk into a local real estate agency office and ask for the broker in charge. They will be happy to meet with you. Once you have a meeting explain your situation and she/he will know of an agent either in that office or another office that works with section 8 housing.
Good luck and god bless!
