Will there ever be a toll reduction at the Verrazano Bridge? I mean $13. to cross is ridiculous!

Staten Island residents do receive a discount.

Little known fact: When tolls were first installed on bridges and tunnels their sole purpose was to pay off the infrastructure project (i.e. Verrazano Bridge) then go away. Our elected officials have found new and creative ways to spend the toll moneys long after they have paid off the cost of specific project.

You need to contact your elelcted officials and make your concerns known. Best of luck....

BTW: I'll be dropping the $13.00 on Wednesday evening...

Unfortunately, highly unlikely that a reduction in toll will take place....

DISCOUNT? I Don't think so ! I have not heard about any discounts in fact I have heard about a raise being kicked around.. Yes it is ridiculous, but with he infrastructures including bridges and tunnels needing major repairs I do not see it.. As we say in Brooklyn FAT CHANCE, Sorry

Dear Sheila:

You get a discount if you are a Staten Island resident and also make sure you have EZ Pass so you do not have to wait on long "Cash Only" lines! As with most things in life, it is very doubtful that the price will ever go down.

Hi, Residents get a discount, definitely look into it. Tolls only go up because they supposedly use that money to fix roads, etc, you would never know it though :o)

if you live there, there is a special discount rate. I wouldn't count on reductions though. Tolls only go up over time.
