Why is Berwyn, Illinois such a great place to live?

Asked by Joseph Washick, , Sat Jan 2, 2010

Berwyn, Illinois is a near-west suburb of Chicago. It is ideally located mid-way between I-55 (Stevenson) and I-290 (Eisenhower) expressways. Berwyn boasts some of the nicest vintage housing stock I have seen anywhere. Wonderful brick bungalows line the residential streets full of trees, nice street lighting and cement sidewalks. Familiarity and name recognition abound- everywhere I travel across America I meet people who are from Berwyn. Infrastructure improvements abound. New street paving within the last few years throughout the entire city are but one of the many new improvements which also include new and improved schools, a new library and much more. The Route 66 Car Show in late August or early September every year takes place on Ogden Avenue between Ridgeland and Oak Park Avenues and has gained regional prominence for the draw it attracts among vintage or beautiful automobiles "dressed to kill". The housing is affordable, the people are great; Berwyn is simply the best!
