With low taxes and good schools I wonder what the negatives are?
I used to be a teacher in Kenilworth, and found the community to be very close knit, and very proud of its history. There are some great neighborhoods, lower taxes than surrounding towns (mainly because of some industrial parts which contribute to taxes), but it does not have a train line to NYC, is a smaller borough, and does have some areas that border highways, which holds down the average sales price.
Kenilworth is a smaller borough, and the East part of it has the Garden State Parkway, which is noisy, and industrial properties, that are a negative influence. It can also be very congested at times. But, the north and west sections are quiet and of residential character. It's certainly very convenient to everything. If you can find something nice in one of the quieter areas, go for it.
