Last month, JP Patches announced that he has blood cancer. Even though he was not feeling 100%, he kept his appearances at the Seattle Aquarium to the joy of old and young Patches Pals alike.

JP Patches is a long time Seattle treasure. Many Seattle natives were raised watching JP in the mornings and afternoon. Currently there is a huge fundraising effort going on to help pay for a statue to honor JP and his side-kick Gertrude. Any proceeds from the fundraising will benefit Children's Hospital.
