The tax rate varies by property as to what the assessd value is. I have quite a few larger tracts listed in the Tellico Plains area. Just for an example, there is a 31 acre tract with annual taxes of $130, 32 acres with taxes of $274, and 33 acres with taxes of $186. We have recently had a new tax appraisal done for Monroe County. The assessed value did go up in some areas, but the rate dropped from $2.03 down to $1.61. We still have low property taxes overall.
