There are a lot of reasons for choosing Cape Coral to live. I moved here from the DC Metro area. We chose Cape Coral because we had teenage boys and it is a great family oriented place to live. The schools are good here.
Another reason that many people choose Cape Coral at this time is what you get for your money. There are not a lot of places where you can purchase a home for less than what it costs to build it and have all of the ammenities that our area has to offer.
In the Cape we have a small but very clean beach with a public swimming pool, tennis courts, racquetball, marina, pier and clubhouse. There is a great waterpark, Sunsplash. There are quite a few places to take nature walks. Matlacha, which is just between Cape Coral and Pine Island, is like a mini Key West with artist galleries, restaurants and great places to fish. With over 400 miles of canals and our proximity to the Gulf, the boating is obvious.
Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel Island, Captiva, Lover's Key and many more beaches are just a short drive. Depending on where you are at in the Cape, you can be on the beach in 25 minutes.
There are people here from all walks of life and it truly is a great place to live. I love it and have never regretted choosing Cape Coral as my home.

From Orlando to Tampa you have the great theme parks. From Miami, and the Florida Keys you have South Beach as well as fantastic fishing, and reef diving. Although most south Floridians don't take advantage of all of the opportunities for fun down here, it is always available to them 365 days a year. Besides where else in the lower 48 states can you grow a tropical garden and enjoy a nice glass of tropical fruit juice that comes from your very own trees.
Why suffer with the cold? I would rather be napping in my hammock under my coconut palms instead of shoveling snow from the driveway. After that nap I could leave my windows and back sliding door open to get some fresh air in the house while the heaters are blowing full blast in the winter wonderland up north.
Life is Good in the Cape, come down and join us! We would love to have you as our new neighbor! I made the decision to move here many years ago, and have never regreted it. Hope to see you soon.......
Cape Coral has a small beach in the Yacht Club area. The city is filled with canals so boating is a big deal. There's no one reason for living in Cape Coral, though. It's a town on the water with nice residential neighborhoods and nice folks.
