The price range in downtown (aka uptown or Center City) Charlotte runs from $190,000 to over $3,000,000. There are many new construction options available with completion dates throughout the next 2 years. Trump International is currently working on a condo project for the skyline which is really exciting. Of course, you'll be trading space for location-the least expensive options are studio loft style condos, in the 450 sqft range.

The best thing about condos/townhomes in downtown is that they have relatively low HOA and Community Dues. So, not only is the price to enter the market low, by comparison to other major metro areas, but the ongoing expenses are low. Of course this will have to change over time, but there are great deals and many buildings have great features that would cost thousands more in other cities.

Right now you can find some deals in the high 100's and low to mid 200's...these won't last long and when employment rates hike back up, you'd bet the price of housing will too!

Condos and townhomes are running in the $400/sf range, dependant on location (the higher the vertical the higher the cost, closer to uptown costs more), view and age. Recent projects will soon double the inventory in uptown, though most are already sold out.
