*West Valley, which includes Glendale, Peoria, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, El Mirage, and Youngtown. Also west but spreading more in a southerly direction are Litchfield Park, Tolleson, Avondale, Goodyear, and Buckeye.
*North, which includes Anthem, Cave Creek, Desert Hills, and Carefree
*North Central, which includes Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and Fountain Hills
*East Valley, which includes Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, Guadalupe, Sun Lakes, Queen Creek, and Apache Junction.
Each of these cities has its own unique characteristics. North Central cities, for example, are more upscale and have a large number of luxury properties. Homes in the North section nudge into the hills and have fascinating rock formations. West Valley has Luke Air Force Base as well as a number of well-known Senior communities such as Sun City. The East Valley has Arizona State University and the two main airports: Sky Harbor International, and Mesa-Gateway.
There is much to explore in and around Phoenix, whether you are looking for high tech jobs, colleges, outdoor activities, entertainment, shopping, or schools.
