Sometimes the weather can be a draw back. It's often foggy or misty when North Beach, South Beach, SOMA or even the Mission and Hayes Valley are sunny or warmer. Most of those are a short bus ride away, however, so it's not that bad.

It can also take a bit to get to the freeway or a bridge to get out of the city. Again, it's not that bad though.

I live in Northern Pac Heights near Union but central Pac Heights near Bush is a bit warmer and a bit closer to the freeway, but not the GG Bridge.

It can be a bit noisy at times: young people walking back from the bars in the middle of the night, the multiple buslines, the fire station just a few blocks away, and the grade school on Green/Steiner. To elaborate, the school closes Green St down between Pierce and Steiner during lunch/recess so the kids can play (this makes it difficult to park your car). Also, there are some car breakins (many of the residents have nice cars with alarms, so humble/modest cars are often targeted).

Home renovations...on any given block in Pac Heights there is almost always at least one house but usually several that are undergoing significant renovations. It keep the property base in the neighborhood attractive for buyers, but be prepared for a bit of noise or contractors or cranes taking precious parking spots from time to time.
