Hey Kevin,

We all know the answer it is in foreclosures and short sales there are plenty to chose from in all price ranges. The Chralotte MLS now has search criteria for all sorts of distressed sellers. You can find the foreclosure and short sales through my ZipRealty website at no cost or obligation. Yea, you have to register but how can we send you the listings without your contact info?

Sincerely,

That all depends on how much you want to spend and what your needs are for a home! In the south Charlotte area some good choices are Piper Glen, Raintree, Ballantyne Country Club and Providence Country Club.

Hey Kevin,

Spent some time down your way in Port St Lucie for PGA school while I was in the golf business down on Hilton Head Island, great place and was really glad when the PGA decided to go ahead and make that a permanent place for education because it was always nice to come to FL instead of having to go to school in Chicago in the middle of the winter or somewhere else like that. As Vickie mentioned below there is a great variety of golf course homes available here in Charlotte and a lot of what would be the "best deals" are obviously going to depend on other things that you may be looking for. There are a plethera of good private courses in the area, some that will be in lake communities such as The Pointe or Peninsula on Lake Norman, some that will give you a golf course that is used on a pretty regular basis for USGA events like Carmel Country Club in the south part of Charlotte and some lilke Raintree (also on the south side of town) that, like Jane mentioned, is not as swanky (or pricey) as some of the other mentioned. Stonebridge, which is a good course, is a little farther south and would be a good drive into the city if you were working there and to be honest I am not sure at this point it would be such a great investment because, also as Jane mentioned, the builder is foreclosing on lots of high end homes which is really not necessarily a good thing. Places like Ballantyne Country Club (south end) will put you in an area that is pretty desireable in Charlotte with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby with a good course and to be honest lots of homes that are on the high end that you can get some great deals on right now. Again I think some of the periferal things like schools, areas, proxemity to work, availability to ammenities and other issues such as those may dictate where you would look because most likely you will be able to find a golf course home in lots of areas of Charlotte at reasonable prices regardless. If you would like to contact me I would be more than happy to discuss the golf courses and areas with you as I do still get out to play a lot in the area and know courses in the area very well and would be happy to help with your (or your clients) search.

Thanks so much,

Currentlly there are over 400 golf course listings in the general Charlotte area ranging from $140,000 to $4,000000. With an abundance of golf course communities available, could you be more specific as to your housing preference? Highland Creek is a good location near UNCC with well priced housing. Northstone is in Huntersville NC, just north of the City offering more expensive units, and southeast of the City Piper Glen is higher end area. The market is recovering slowly here so there are still some very good deals out there.

In Union County at a club called Stonebridge. The course is good, the prices are very good as the builder is foreclosing on a bunch of his completed homes...golf course new constuction foreclosures. If you need more information on the course, call my husband Claude, at 704-975-1733. Yes, he is an avid golfer.
Inside of Charlotte, Raintree CC always offers a lot for your money. Not the swankiest, but a solid bet on schools, location and pricing.
